The Samsung ST100 was produced on Jan 6, 2010 and is available in USA for $249.99.

The Samsung ST100 is a ultracompact camera. Its main advantage is a small size: the photographer can even put it in the pocket. The Samsung ST100 has different automatic modes but you won't take photographs of the same high quality in comparison to DSLR cameras.

The ST100 can take pictures at 14 megapixels max resolution. But for better image quality the more important specification is a sensor size. This camera has a 1/2.3' (6.17 x 4.55 mm) sensor which means that the camera will take pictures with not so high quality as cameras with bigger sensors but instead it has another advantage - the ST100 is small. And if you want to take pictures of the best quality check Leica Q (Typ 116).

The Samsung ST100 has max shutter speed of 1/1000 sec. It is not very fast shutter speed but anyway the photographer will be able to shoot pictures of moving objects. The camera owner will be able to capture HD videos that guarantees a good image quality.

The lens is fixed and the photographer can't change it. The lens provides satisfactory 5x optical zoom.
