The L730 belongs to the category of compact cameras. Its main benefit is a small size: the photographer can take it anywhere with himself easily. The camera is equipped with different automatic modes but you won't take photographs of the same great quality in comparison to large sensor compact cameras.

The L730 can take images at 7 megapixels highest resolution. But for better picture quality the more important specification is a sensor size. The L730 has a 1/2.5' (5.744 x 4.308 mm) sensor which means that the camera will make images with not so high quality as cameras with bigger sensors but instead it has another advantage - the L730 has portable size.
