The Digimax 401 was produced on Feb 12, 2004.

The Digimax 401 is a point and shoot camera. Its main benefit is a very small size: the photographer can take it anywhere with himself easily. The camera is equipped with various automatic modes but you won't capture photos of the same perfect quality in comparison to DSLR cameras.

The Samsung Digimax 401 can take photos at 4 megapixels max resolution. But if you want to get better picture quality the more important thing is a sensor size. This camera has a 1/2.5' (5.744 x 4.308 mm) sensor which means that the model will take photos with not so high quality as cameras with larger sensors but instead it has more portable size. And if you want to shoot photos of the professional quality pay attention to Leica M (Typ 262).

The camera has max shutter speed of 1/1000 sec. It is not very fast shutter speed but anyway the owner of the camera will be able to make photos of moving people. The Samsung Digimax 401 can even capture videos but the max resolution is not very good - 320 x 240.

The lens is built into the Samsung Digimax 401 and you won't be able to change it. The lens provides weak 0x optical zoom.
