The CX2 was produced on Aug 20, 2009.

The CX2 is a compact camera. Its main benefit is a very small size: the photographer can take it anywhere with himself easily. The Ricoh CX2 is equipped with various automatic modes but you won't capture photos of the same great quality in comparison to DSLR cameras.

The CX2 can take images at 9 megapixels highest resolution. But for better photo quality the more important thing is a sensor size. The CX2 has a 1/2.3' (6.17 x 4.55 mm) sensor which means that the model will produce images with a lower quality than cameras with bigger sensors but instead it has another advantage - the CX2 has portable size. And if you want to capture images of the best quality pay attention to Leica M Edition 60.

The Ricoh CX2 has max shutter speed of 1/2000 sec. It is an average shutter speed that is rather good for taking action images of a very good quality. The CX2 can even capture videos but the max resolution is not too high - 640 x 480 (30 fps).

The lens is built into the CX2 and the photographer won't be able to change it. The lens provides amazing 10x optical zoom.
