The Tough TG-4 has more number of white balance presets - 5. This option gives the camera owner more control over colour. The Tough TG-4 can save images in RAW format that allows the photographer to correct the image without a drastic reduction in quality, recover more blown highlights and clipped shadows.

The Tough TG-1 iHS screen is better as it offers more number of screen dots 610,000 in comparison to 460,000 dots of the Tough TG-4 display. The higher dot count screen is better for reviewing pictures on your camera.

The Tough TG-4 battery life is better in compare to the Tough TG-1 iHS battery life.
