  • Summary

The X-T2 highest resolution of 6000 x 4000 pixels (24 megapixels) is better in comparison with the Tough TG-5 maximum resolution of 4000 x 3000 pixels (12 megapixels). The X-T2 is produced with bigger sensor compared to the Tough TG-5: APS-C (23.6 x 15.6 mm) versus 1/2.3' (6.17 x 4.55 mm). This is the most important specification of this model because big sensor lets you to take photos of the more professional quality. The X-T2 has more number of focus points than the Tough TG-5: 325 vs 25. More number of focus points means more convenience when attempting to focus on subjects which are not centred.

The Fujifilm X-T2 is produced with tilting display which will allow you to capture photos from any odd angle. The X-T2 screen is better as it has more number of screen dots 1,040,000 in compare to 460,000 dots of the Tough TG-5 screen. The higher dot count screen is better for reviewing pictures on your camera. The X-T2 provides better lowest (30 seconds) and fastest (1/8000 second) shutter speeds.

The Tough TG-5 has built-in flash. The Fujifilm X-T2 supports external flash. An external flash provides great control over the exposure and lighting of the subject in low light or in bright light conditions when the camera owner needs to fill-flash. The Tough TG-5 weighs 250g that is 257g less in comparison with the weight of the Fujifilm X-T2. The Tough TG-5 is equipped with built-in GPS. This feature can be useful if the camera owner is a traveller, to be able to go into the image metadata and see exactly where a picture was captured.

Considering the above differences the Fujifilm X-T2 will become the best choice. Check the lowest price on Amazon.
