Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX100 prices and specs
The Lumix DMC-FX100 was released on May 21, 2007 and is on sale in USA for $699.99.
The Lumix DMC-FX100 is a ultracompact camera. Its main benefit is a small size: the photographer can even put it in the pocket. The camera has various automatic modes but you won't get photos of the same high quality in comparison to large sensor compact cameras.
The camera can take images at 12 megapixels highest resolution. But for better image quality the more important thing is a sensor size. The Lumix DMC-FX100 has a 1/1.72' (7.4 x 5.55 mm) sensor which means that the Lumix DMC-FX100 will take images with a lower quality than cameras with larger sensors but instead it has another advantage - the Lumix DMC-FX100 has portable size. And if you want to shoot images of the best quality check Leica M-P (Typ 240).
The camera has max shutter speed of 1/2000 sec. It is an average shutter speed that is rather good for shooting action images of a very good quality. The camera can even produce videos but the max resolution is not too high - 848 x 480.
The lens is fixed and the camera owner won't be able to switch it. The lens has weak 3x optical zoom.
